Mend Your Soul "Monthly Moments", December 2023

Monthly musings, information, and updates to deliver encouragement and hope.

Hey Deanna,

I hope this month finds you at peace in the midst of your cirucumstances, and if need be, that you are also finding victory over your struggles.

Topic of the month:  Boundaries

How is this month going for you?  Are you juggling all of the demands and expectations of the season?  Dealing with challenging relationships?  Knowing what to say "yes" to or "no" to?

A lot can be going on this time of year that can add to the stressors that we are already dealing with on a "regular" basis.

With that said, I thought that it might be a good idea to revisit "Boundaries".

For those of us, in particular, who have a history of childhood abuse and/or a childhood that negated the ability to appropriately say no to things that bother or hurt us, boundaries can be a tricky thing to know about and then to implement.

A definition of Boundaries is, "Boundaries show where one thing ends and another begins.  Boundaries in a relationship are kind of like this/ they help each person figure out where one person ends and the other begins.  In short, boundaries help you define what you are comfortable with and how you would like to be treated by others."  And, if your Boundaries are not respected by others, what it is that you're willing to do (not trying to  make the other one do) to keep your boundary intact?

What is going on?

During the past year Mend Your Soul Ministries has gone through some changes.  We have changed our main office to Gulf Breeze FL. and we have been focusing on providing online support for those who have suffered from abuse through various social media outlets.

New News

For 2024, We are planning on developing an online program for individuals, who've suffered from childhood abuse, that will walk them through a process that facilitates inner healing from the effects of that abuse to then thrive in their lives by:

-feeling more comfortable and at peace with who they are,

-navigating relationships well and fostering positive relationships in their lives, and

-enjoying the life God created for them to have.

A Resource

Since our topic this month is Boundaries, I think the best resource to have on this is Dr. Henry Clouds' Book, "Boundaries".  "Boundaries"-Updated-Expanded.

The Word

"Gaurd your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life" Proverbs 4:23.

A guard is a boundary, a definitive line or limit that we putup to keep out what is harmful to us or may cause unnecessary brokeness.

May I Pray For You?

May The Lord bless you and keep you.  May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.  May He lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
